JUDICIAL BRANCH REPORTS UPDATES ON E-FILING
As of September 1, 2005, additional case types are eligible for e-filing. In
addition to the five initial case types, all tort cases and all vehicular tort
cases (T’s and V’s) are now part of e-filing. The addition of these case types
has greatly expanded the availability of e-filing.
Information regarding scheduled events for all civil/family cases will also
be available online to any interested person in November, 2005. This information
will include the date, time, case name and status of the event, including such
events as pretrials, trials, and status conferences.
For e-file-eligible cases filed on or after April 11, 2005, the case
initiation documents are viewable online by any person who has an appearance in
the file. The clerks’ offices will scan in the case initiation documents for all
e-filable cases, including the newest additions, as each case type is made
eligible for e-filing.
To experience e-filing, attorneys and staff are encouraged to use the demo
site which is accessible from the
Judicial Branch web
site. If there are any questions about these new developments or about any
aspect of e-filing or to request additional materials or training for your
staff, kindly contact Alice Mastrony either by telephone (860-706-5321) or
e-mail alice.mastrony@jud.state.ct.us.
