The deadline to make a contribution to the Campaign for the CBA Law Center for recognition on the wall of honor has been extended to December 15, 2007.

In 2001, CBA Past Presidents Don Marchand and Jim Stapleton were appointed as co-chairs of the Campaign for the CBA Law Center. The goal of the campaign was to raise funds to improve and support the CBA Law Center, which is owned by the CT Bar Institute, a 501(c)(3) affiliate of the Connecticut Bar Association.

To date, nearly $600,000 has been raised through the campaign. In fall 2006, CBA President Norman Janes appointed a building design committee to consider ways to improve the CBA Law Center. The committee has worked to identify areas for improvement and renovation at the CBA Law Center.

The New Britain-based architecture firm of Kaestle Boos Associates has been retained to assist with the renovation project which will include a new building entry, enhanced Member Service Center, and related renovations to improve member service and staff efficiency.

The renovation will also include a President’s Gallery with photographs of all CBA presidents and a wall of honor to recognize those who contributed $1,000 or more to the campaign. The levels of campaign recognition are as follows:

President’s Circle $100,000 or more
Governor’s Circle $ 50,000 – 99,999
Partners$ 25,000 – 49,999
Counselors$ 10,000 - 24,999
Lawyers’ Roundtable $ 5,000 - 9,999
Benefactors$ 2,500 - 4,999
Leaders$ 1,000 – 2,499

Payments received by December, 15, 2007 will be considered for recognition level. If you have made a contribution but would like to increase your level of giving or if you have not yet had an opportunity to contribute to the campaign, now is the time to do so!

Pledge forms are available here. Please contact Mary Etter, director of internal operations, at 860-612-2006 or metter@ctbar.org for more information.
