CT Judicial Branch Seeks Court-Appointed Counsel

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTICE
Agreements for Legal Representation of Indigent Respondents Facing Potential Incarceration in Civil Contempt Proceedings Involving their Failure to Comply with Court Orders in Family Matters and for Legal Representation of Indigent Putative Fathers in Paternity Actions

The Judicial Branch is continuing to accept applications for, and will be entering into Agreements with, individual attorneys and law firms to serve as court appointed counsel for (1) indigent respondents facing potential incarceration in civil contempt proceedings involving their failure to comply with court orders in family matters and (2) indigent putative fathers in paternity actions.

The Agreement period will commence on or about January 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006. Compensation will be $250.00 for each appointment. Caseload limitations and the locations served will be specified in the Agreement.

Each attorney must be a member in good standing of the Connecticut Bar and will be subject to a background and record check. A mandatory educational or training program may be offered on a statewide basis that would require attendance by the Contractor unless excused. Participation in continuing education programs will be considered when renewal applications are considered.
