This seminar will consider current interpretations of Connecticut’s Anti-Bullying Statute. Topics covered include how electronic and cyber bullying are treated under the statute; how provisions pertaining to hostile environments, inside and outside of the school setting, are interpreted and enforced; how the statute’s definition of discrimination applies to transgender and gender non-conforming students; and compliance with Title IX.

About the Program: This program is an introduction to Connecticut's Anti-bullying law.  The seminar will consider current interpretations of Connecticut’s Anti-Bullying Statute.  Topics covered include how electronic and cyber bullying are treated under the statute; how provisions pertaining to hostile environments, inside and outside of the school setting, are interpreted and enforced; how the statute’s definition of discrimination applies to transgender and gender non-conforming student; and compliance with Title IX.

  • About school and administrator roles, and the steps required in the investigatory process when an allegation of bullying is made.
