Intro to Mindfulness for Attorneys presented by Dr. Brandon Nappi, Executive Director at the Copper Beech Institute, Farmington Research suggests that mindfulness can be helpful in reducing stress, worry, chronic pain and a host of other maladies.This program will present scientific research on the benefits of mindfulness, and an opportunity to try several techniques, including silent and guided breath meditation.

About the Program: Recently mindfulness practices have gained media notoriety as research suggests that mindfulness can be helpful in reducing stress, worry, chronic pain and a host of other maladies. Increasingly, mindfulness practices are being embraced in schools, universities, hospitals, prisons, and corporations to foster resilience, compassion, learning and connection. Mindfulness is moment to moment non-judgmental awareness; mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally. This awareness helps us touch deeply the wonders of life and transform the roots of our suffering. 

Who Should Attend: Attorneys and other legal professionals who are interested in learning more about mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and increase health and learning.

You Will Learn:

·         About recent scientific research on mindfulness and meditation

·         How mindfulness can ease stressful or contentious situations

·         Several methods of meditation including silent and guided breath meditation and lovingkindness meditation
