Probate Matters

Speaker:  Attorney Heather L. Dostaler, Staff Attorney, Office of Probate Court Administrator
Heather L. Dostaler has been an attorney with the Office of the Probate Court Administrator since May, 2015. Since joining PCA, Heather has taught a number of workshops relating to probate matters and is a member of the Probate Court Rules Advisory Committee. Heather is on the Board of Directors of the Waterbury Bar Association and a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.


Program Description:
The following Probate Matters will be addressed:

Limited jurisdiction

Title concerns in decedents’ estates, conservatorships and trust matters

• Court approval necessary/advised
• Joint property
• Trying Title
• Trust v. Trustee named in deed
• Property held by entity

Liens

• Probate fee lien
• Estate tax lien
• Releases
• Extensions of time to file/pay fees
• “Recording” fees
• Foreclosures
