About the Program

This program is designed to be a panel discussion on privacy and cyber security in healthcare, with a specific focus on HIPAA. Its purpose will be to provide an update on HIPAA, including a discussion of recent changes to both state and federal laws, as well as recent court decisions impacting the protection and disclosure of patient information for the purposes of litigation. The panel will also discuss these issues from the technological perspective, including security threats and the use of social media.

  • How to protect client’s personal information and yourself as the keeper of that information
  • About the changes to state and federal law, as well as case law, that affect how lawyers manage a client’s matter that involves protected health information

Who Should Attend

This program is intended for anyone practicing in the area of health law, but also for those whose practices involve the requests, use, and/or storage of client medical records. This program will benefit attorneys with all levels of experience.
