Risk Management for Underground Construction:
Lessons Learned from the Millennium Project

Speakers

Ted von Rosenvinge, GeoDesign Engineers
Michael De Chiara, Zetlin & De Chiara

Program Description

The presentation will cover lessons learned, both legal and technical, arising from Millennium Tower project in San Francisco. The Millennium Tower is a 58 story luxury residential building (with lots of well-known occupants) that started to sink and tilt after completion. One corner of the Tower descended at least 18 inches. The speakers were instrumental in the legal and technical issues that arose thereafter.
