Karri Filek is a Program Manager with the Connecticut Department of Social Services, Division of Health Services. She has 11 years of experience with design and development of new initiatives and programs, including the Connecticut Housing Engagement and Supports Services (CHESS) program, My Care Options (MCO) and Supports at Home Option (SHO). Karri has a range of knowledge in the field of Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS), with extensive knowledge in Medicaid financial eligibility. Karri holds a master’s degree in Public Administration-Health Care Administration.
Program Description
Funded under ARP 9817, DSS is implementing a new program for Medicare Savings Program beneficiaries who have 1 or two critical needs. The program offers support to members while navigating the path to Medicaid Home and Community Based Services. DSS is also adding two evidenced-based programs called Care of Older Person in Their Environment (COPE) and Community Aging in Place-Advancing Better Living for Elders (CAPABLE) to SHO, DSS waivers, State-funded home care program for Elders, and 1915i.
