Program Description:
Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission presents the issue of whether applying Colorado's public accommodations law to compel a business owner or artist to create expression that violates his sincerely held religious beliefs about marriage violates the free speech or free exercise clauses of the First Amendment. Argument has been held but the Court has not yet published its decision. At this event a panel of litigators familiar with this case and the current legal landscape will discuss its potential implications.
