Our March meeting will focus on the planning and zoning issues in Connecticut’s capital city.  Sara Bronin, Professor of Law and Faculty Director for Center for Energy & Environmental Law at UConn Law and Chair of the Hartford Planning and Zoning Commission, will lead the discussion of the latest zoning efforts in the City of Hartford.  She will be joined by Jamie Bratt, Hartford’s Director of Planning and Economic Development, in presenting the newly adopted zoning code and the land use matters on Hartford’s horizon, including transit-oriented development incentives along the CTfastrak, a Connecticut River district, innovative provisions on sustainability (ranging from electric vehicles to solar to watershed buffers), and the elimination of all parking requirements downtown.  UConn law students, including those who participated in the regulation drafting, will also be our guests for the evening.
