2016 Revisions to the ABA Model Business Corporation Act (MBCA) – Should Connecticut Revise the Connecticut BCA to reflect developments since it became effective in 1997?

The panelists will be John Lawrence of Shipman and Goodwin, Jim Lotstein, one of the leaders in CT’s adoption of the BCA in the mid-1990s, and Andy Glassman of Pullman & Comley LLC.  They will discuss the 2016 Revisions to the MBCA and the reasons they believe it would be appropriate for the Section to empower a committee to prepare revisions to the CT BCA with a view to the Section and the CBA endorsing and working to pass these revisions. In the current business environment many of us believe that updating the BCA will be an important contribution to making Connecticut a more business friendly state.
