HOUSE AND SENATE MEET
The chambers were virtually active this past week as the Judiciary Committee brought the names of 15 judges for reconfirmation, including Supreme Court Justice Andrew McDonald.
SPECIAL ELECTION
Governor Ned Lamont has scheduled Tuesday, March 2, 2021 as the date to hold a special election to fill a vacancy for state senator in the 27th Senatorial District. Senator Carlo Leone (Darien, Stamford) is leaving the senate to take a position in the Department of Transportation. Rep. Patricia Billie Millerhas announced her intention to be elected to represent that district.
COMMITTEE CONCEPTS
The following concepts have been introduced as potential legislation for public hearings: immunizations, vaccines, flavored cigarettes and tobacco and vapor products, revisions to medical cannabis statutes, suicide prevention, aid in dying, anti-trust issues, the palliative use of marijuana, opioids, and providing food and beverage in funeral homes.
