About the Program

"People are opting out of vital conversations about diversity and inclusivity because they fear looking wrong, saying something wrong, or being wrong. Choosing our own comfort over hard conversations is the epitome of privilege, and it corrodes trust and moves us away from meaningful and lasting change.
Diversity & Inclusion Summit

Rather than spending a reasonable amount of time proactively acknowledging and addressing the fears and feelings that show up during change and upheaval, we spend an unreasonable amount of time managing problematic behaviors."
    - Brené Brown, Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts.

The Diversity & Inclusion Summit: The Collaborative Blueprint is an innovative and collaborative professional development experience designed to empower leaders in the legal profession to take action toward making Connecticut a more diverse and inclusive bench and bar. Through collaborative workshops and panel discussions, you will gain knowledge and inspiration to help you lead your organization into a revolutionary transformation that will make a positive effect in the realm of diversity and inclusion in the state of Connecticut.

You Will Learn

  • About a snapshot of the data collected from our signatories to the pledge/plan in 2019, which highlights initial and growing statistics on diversity within the Connecticut legal profession since its collection in 2017
  • About the systematic and internal dynamics that negatively impact the ability to recruit, retain, and promote diverse talent
  • How to inherit the necessary tools toward retaining diverse talent and advancing them within your organization
