Ryan V. Powell
Ryan V. Powell, a staff attorney at Greater Hartford Legal Aid since 2020, represents victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault in immigration matters. Attorney Powell assists clients in obtaining numerous forms of humanitarian relief and represents clients in all aspects of Special Immigrant Juvenile Status petitions. He also handles naturalization and adjustment of status cases.
Attorney Powell received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Connecticut and went on to earn his law degree from the university’s school of law. Prior to joining Greater Hartford Legal Aid, he focused his practice on defending insurers, employers, and third-party administrators against workers’ compensation claims. Attorney Powell is engaged in community outreach and youth mentoring throughout the greater Hartford area and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Immigration Law Committee.
