Erin E. Kemple will receive the Charles J. Parker Legal Services Award at the CBA’s annual awards celebration, Celebrate with the Stars, on Wednesday, July 22. The Charles J. Parker Legal Services Award is presented to members of the Connecticut Bar who have a deep and abiding interest in and dedication to the delivery of legal services to the disadvantaged in Connecticut. For over three decades, attorney Kemple has committed herself to working with people of color and those living in low-income communities.

She began her career in Massachusetts, where her focus was in representing low-income individuals and families with housing and benefits complaints and went on to serve as founder, legal director, and executive director of the Housing Discrimination Project, a private fair housing organization that serves central and western Massachusetts.

Attorney Kemple has been working as the executive director of the Connecticut Fair Housing Center since 2013. She has advised state and local officials regarding the implementation of policies and plans to overcome obstacles in regard to fair housing choice.
