Gayle C. Carr will receive The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award at the CBA’s annual awards celebration, Celebrate with the Stars, on Wednesday, July 22. She is an active trial lawyer, at Cohen and Thomas, with a practice concentration in family law which includes the representation of spouses, as well as parents and children in all applications of family law.
Attorney Carr has been a dedicated participant in the Statewide Legal Service’s pro bono program for over 20 years, assisting with both regular and complex family matters. Her two decades of serving clients, in which many of them are in urgent need of legal representation that otherwise would be out of reach for them, is clear and decisive evidence of her deeply held conviction that members of the private bar can and should handle matters of significant complexity or duration on a volunteer basis.
