You Cannot Run from Your Problems - But You Can Lace Up Your Running Shoes and Get A Head Start

“You can’t outrun your problems” the old adage goes.  But Cody Guarnieri believes that you can get up early, lace up your running shoes, and and get a solid head start on them.

Attorney Guarnieri, a partner in the Hartford office of Brown Paindiris & Scott LLP, began long-distance running in the summer of 2018.  Since then, he has run numerous road and trail races, including his first half-marathon in April 2019 and first marathon in October 2019.  When COVID-19 shutdown much of the country in the spring, Attorney Guarnieri found it even more important to get out and hammer the pavement.  Getting out of his house and focusing on each step has provided him with an outlet to clear his mind in an otherwise cluttered time. Earlier this month, he ran the Hartford Marathon Virtual “Driven by Purpose 3”: a half-marathon, 10K, and 5K on three successive days

Earlier this fall, Attorney Guarnieri helped his brother-in-law open Anchor & Compass Fitness and Performance in Wallingford, a personal training gym designed to help others work towards their personal fitness goals and mental health. He is currently working on his certification to become a running and marathon coach, and plans to start at the Compass Running Club in early 2021.
