Louis M. Federici will receive The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award at the CBA’s annual awards celebration, Celebrate with the Stars, on Thursday, April 8. He is an attorney at Parrett Porto Parese & Colwell and practices primarily in litigation, including personal injury, employment law, business law, workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, and social security disability, and represents clients in residential real estate matters. Attorney Federici is a Litigation Section Executive Committee member and a member of the Labor & Employment Law Section.
Attorney Federici is being honored for his 25-year history of dedicated pro bono services to the low-income clients of Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut (SLS). He has volunteered over 200 hours, aiding clients in areas such as eviction defense, housing rights, disability benefits, unemployment benefits, consumer law, and public utility cases. As a result of his services, a majority of SLS clients have achieved positive outcomes that they would not have obtained without his assistance.
The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award recognizes CBA members who demonstrated dedication to the provision of legal services without expectation of payment to those in need. He is one of four attorneys receiving the award this year.
