As an active member of the YLS, Attorney McClain has given numerous hours of volunteering in his various roles and is a mentor to newer YLS members. He served as the YLS CLE director for two years, aiding the planning process and execution of multiple CLE courses and was recognized with the YLS’ Outstanding Achievement Award in 2018 and a Star of the Year Award in 2017. For the last two years, he has served as public service co-director, initiating and planning several public service initiatives, including the annual Horn of Plenty food drive, which collected over $3,300 in food and monetary donations for Foodshare in 2020. He was also an integral part of the YLS voter registration and “Get Out the Vote” social media campaign in fall 2020. He is lauded as an engaging leader with creative energy and wit by his peers.
The YLS Vanguard Award recognizes current or recent alumni of the CBA’s YLS executive committee who have made outstanding and significant contributions to the YLS and the association and whose progressive and forward-thinking has benefited all CBA members.
