Kimberly Jacobsen is a Managing Director and Commission Attorney of Employment Matters at the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights & Opportunities (CHRO). She manages attorneys, investigators, and support staff; serves as a resource for the agency’s regional offices; and is involved in the preparation of the agency’s legislative proposals. She has special interests in breastfeeding rights, disability law, and mediation.

Attorney Jacobsen previously served as a litigation attorney for the CHRO, representing the Commission at administrative hearings held before the Commission’s Public Hearings Office and in a variety of litigation before State Courts. Her work at the CHRO also included appellate litigation and she has argued before the State’s Appellate Court. She also previously served as a staff attorney for the Workers’ Compensation Commission and Statewide Legal Services.

Attorney Jacobsen received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Delaware and her J.D. from Western New England College’s School of Law. She served as an adjunct professor for UConn Law School’s first year Practice Course for many years. She is also a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. In recent years, she has spoken publicly about living well with Parkinson’s Disease in many different forums, including CT Lawyer magazine where she published an article for its D,E,&I column titled “My Disability Makes me a Better Lawyer.”
