Gregory P. Muccilli will receive the Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award at the CBA’s annual awards ceremony, Celebrate with the Stars, on Thursday, March 12.
Attorney Muccilli is a partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLP, where he practices in real estate development, commercial financing, commercial leasing, and land use counseling. He also serves as chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. He advises clients on the acquisition, financing, development, leasing, and disposition of commercial, mixed-use, and multifamily residential properties, and regularly appears before municipal land use boards and commissions throughout Connecticut. His practice further includes representing hotel owners and purchasers in the acquisition and disposition of luxury, historic, boutique, and franchised hotel properties, as well as developers and investors in government loans, grants, and tax credit syndication transactions, including historic rehabilitation and low-income housing tax credit transactions.
In addition to his professional work, Attorney Muccilli is an active leader within the legal community. He is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, a member of the CBA Special Committee on Standards of Title, and currently serves as treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the CBA Real Property Section. He is also a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation and a past chair of the New Haven County Bar Association’s Real Estate Committee, and he served on the committee that revised and updated the New Haven County closing customs.
In addition to his legal work, Attorney Muccilli serves on the Board of Directors of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and recently completed his service on the board of The Neighborhood Music School in New Haven, where he chaired the board’s governance committee for much of his tenure.
Attorney Muccilli is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York. He earned his law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut, where he studied vocal performance.
The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award recognizes CBA members who demonstrated dedication to the provision of legal services without expectation of payment to those in need.
