CBA President-elect, Monte E. Frank has been elected president of the New England Bar Association (NEBA).

In addition, CBA Executive Director Douglas S. Brown will serve as secretary and CBA Immediate Past President Mark A. Dubois, along with CBA members Austin Berescik-Johns and Joanna Kornafel, will serve three-year terms as board members.

NEBA is comprised of leaders from six component bar associations–Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont who regularly meet to exchange ideas and keep abreast on the issues impacting the legal communities in the Northeast. Like other bar associations, NEBA fosters professional and personal growth for legal professionals.

“The New England Bar has a wealth of talent and expertise” said Attorney Frank. “Through sharing of ideas and collaboration, we can better lead our respective state bars, and serve our members and the public at large.”

In his role as president, Frank will lead the New England Bar states’ legal community as it grapples with challenging issues. Attorney Frank will host the NEBA Annual Meeting which is slated to take place on October 13–15 at The Study at Yale in New Haven. This event brings together an intimate and collective group of attorneys and bar association leaders from the six New England states, and will deal with issues like opiate addiction, human sex trafficking, veterans’ issues, diversity and inclusion, and challenges facing the legal community.

Attorney Frank previously held the role of vice president and is one of Connecticut’s delegates to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates. He is a member of the National Council of Bar Presidents, the American Bar Foundation Fellows, the Connecticut Bar Foundation Fellows, and served as president of the Danbury Bar Association.
