Mental Health First Aid
presented by The Connection
Program Description
Many attorneys work with individuals who may experience substance abuse and/or mental health issues, so understanding how to respond to clients in the midst of crisis is a necessary skill. Mental Health First Aid is a SAMHSA-endorsed, nationally recognized skill set designed to assist someone who is displaying signs of an emergent mental health problem or is experiencing an acute mental health crisis. This virtual course, designed primarily for non-clinical audiences, will teach participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness or substance use disorders.
Participants will be required to complete 15 minutes of online pre-course work and 15 minutes of online post-coursework and sign a consent form on the day of the training.
Participants will receive certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing valid for three years.
