PRO BONO AWARDS
2008 Connecticut Bar Association Pro Bono Award Guidelines
Qualified nominees include attorneys and paralegals in the private or public sector
who are registered members of the CBA and The Connecticut Pro Bono Network and
not salaried employees of a legal aid organization. They are to have demonstrated
their dedication to the provision of legal services without expectation of payment to indigent persons according to the following criteria:
Criteria
- Handles matters of significant quantity, complexity or duration;
- Willingness to accept unpopular, unusual or difficult matters;
- Going beyond the "call of duty";
- Achieving an outcome which made either a significant difference in a client's life or had a major positive impact beyond the individual matter;
- Faithful participation in clinics, projects, or other programs devoted to serving the legal needs of the poor;
- Fostering pro bono work by others through mentoring, advocacy, support or example;
- Other demonstration of extraordinary effort, commitment, sacrifice or accomplishment
