YLS Legislative Breakfast Draws Legislators, CBA Members
More than forty people, including fifteen state lawmakers,
attended the annual legislative breakfast on April 21, sponsored by the
Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
The breakfast gives CBA members a chance to meet state
legislators in a social atmosphere to discuss legislative initiatives or to chat
about issues of interest.
Deborah L. Hutton and Thomas J. Saadi of the YLS
legislative-lobbying committee co-chaired the event.
Among the guests were CBA President John W. Hogan, Jr.,
President-elect Frederic S. Ury, Vice President Louis R. Pepe, YLS Chair Vincent
Cervoni, and Chair-elect Daniel A. Schwartz. Also on hand were CBA Executive
Director Tim Hazen, Communications Director Christopher G. Blake, Legislative
Counsel Matthew Hallisey, and Assistant Legislative Counsel Donald Philips.
House Minority Leader Robert M. Ward, R-Northford, briefly
addressed the group. Ward encouraged CBA members to participate in the
legislative process. He urged members to visit with their legislators and let
them know the issues that are of importance to them.
Copies of the CBA’s legislative agenda and 2004 legislative
positions and other materials were available to those who attended. To see the
most recent items of interest related to the CBA legislative agenda, visit
