CBA Announces Staff ChangesThe Connecticut Bar Association has announced the following staff changes effective immediately:
Janis C. Jerman, formerly director of administration and finance and bar counsel for the CBA, has been promoted to the position of associate executive director of the association. Prior to joining the CBA in 2001, Jerman was a solo practitioner in Hartford. She received a BA in psychology from Purdue University in 1987 and her juris doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1993. Jerman is admitted to practice in Connecticut and in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut. In 2003, Jerman was honored by the YWCA of New Britain Women in Leadership program and received the Rotarian of the Year Award from the New Britain-Berlin Rotary Club in 2004.
Hilary M. Stevens, formerly director of marketing and communications for the CBA, has been promoted to the position of director of external affairs. Stevens has over twelve years experience in public relations, marketing, e-business, and management for both corporate and non-profit companies and has won several awards, including the Bell Ringer Award from the Publicity Club of New England. Stevens received her MBA in both marketing and management from the University of Connecticut and her BA in psychology from Boston College. Stevens also teaches graduate courses for the University of Phoenix online in the areas of marketing, communications, e-marketing, and e-business.
