CBA Staff Celebrate National Hunger Awareness Day
CBA staff celebrated National Hunger Awareness Day on June 6 with a food drive. CBA staff generously donated 163 pounds of food to Foodshare, a regional food bank that distributes more than eleven tons of food each day to 350 local programs that feed hungry people in Hartford and TollandCounties.
Donations to food banks and shelters drop off in the summer months. Many donors focus their generosity during the winter holidays. CBA staff chose to make a summer donation to demonstrate year-round community support. In fiscal year 2005-06, in addition to this donation to Foodshare, CBA staff donated five Thanksgiving food baskets to needy families in the New Britain area through a program with the Friendship Service Center.
