OUR PRIVACY POLICY
We respect your privacy! Any information you give to ctbar.org will be held
with the utmost care and will not be used in ways that you have not consented
to.
The following describes CBA’s privacy practices, including its policy
for information received from or about you during visits to the Web site. The
amount and type of information received depends on how you use the Web site.
Normal Web Site Usage
We may collect and store information during normal web site usage such as
the name of your Internet service provider, the Web site that referred you
to us, the pages you request, and the date and time of those requests. We may
use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve
the usefulness of customer visits. During normal Web site usage, we do not
collect or store information that will individually identify you (such as name,
mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, or Social Security number).
We do not collect personally identifiable information from individuals unless
you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly.
When linking to third party sites through CBA Web pages, visitors become subject
to those third party sites' privacy policies.
Advanced Web Site Usage – Completing and Submitting Online Forms
When you engage in certain activities on this site, such as ordering products,
CBA may ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out
and submitting an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage
in these activities. If you elect to engage in these activities however, CBA
may require that you provide us personal information, such as your name, mailing
address, e-mail address, and other personal identifying information. You may
also be asked to provide a credit card number. Such information is collected,
stored, and used consistent with all applicable laws and in a manner appropriate
to the nature of your request and is used to fulfill it.
CBA uses its best efforts to respect the privacy of its online visitors. Whenever
you provide sensitive information (for example, a credit card number to make
a purchase), we will take reasonable steps to protect it, such as encrypting
your card number.
Use of Cookies
Visitors should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically
collected by the CBA’s Web site through the use of "cookies." Cookies
are small text files a Web site can use to recognize repeat visitors, facilitate
the visitor’s ongoing access to and use of the site, and allow a site
to track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that will allow content
improvements. A cookie is transferred to your browser by a Web server and can
only be read by the server that gave it to you. Cookies are not programs that
come onto a visitor’s system and damage files.
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. You can set your browser
to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether
or not to accept it. (For some Web pages that require an authorization, cookies
are not optional. Users choosing not to accept cookies will probably not be
able to access those pages).
While CBA uses cookies to track your visit to ctbar.org, this information
does not identify you personally, and you remain anonymous unless you have otherwise
provided CBA with personal information.
Comments and Questions
CBA welcomes comments and questions on this policy. We are dedicated to protecting
your personal information and will make every reasonable effort to keep that
information secure. Due to the rapidly evolving technologies on the Internet,
we may occasionally update this policy. All revisions will be posted to this
site. Questions regarding this statement should be directed to ctbar@ctbar.org.
