CBA Benefits

Annual Meeting: CBA members receive discounted registration to attend substantive law training seminars; network with colleagues; and visit vendor booths to investigate law-related products and services, learn about new technology, and get law office management tips.

Case e-lert: Receive a weekly e-mail containing digests of Connecticut court decisions in the three areas of law you choose. The digests feature links to the full text of the court decisions. Additional practice areas are available for an additional fee. Click here for more information.

Casemaker®: The ultimate member benefit. Casemaker® is a comprehensive online research library exclusively for paid CBA members. There are no fees for use. The research library is available through www.ctbar.org twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to Connecticut state and federal materials, members have access to the state materials of other consortium states: Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

CLE: Our premiere continuing legal education (CLE) programs are designed to enhance your professional development and save you valuable research time and money. Members save on CLE tuition for both live seminars and online CLE.

CBA Weekly Update: Receive a weekly electronic newsletter detailing and highlighting CBA announcements, upcoming CLE seminars, new publications, member benefits, and events.

Golf Privileges: CBA members have the opportunity to golf at a world-class, championship 18-hole course in Cromwell and other affiliated courses around the country through the CBA’s corporate membership. Benefits of the program include access to a centrally located first-class golf course and meeting room facilities in Cromwell. This is a unique client entertainment and networking program for you, your family, and your guests. The annual fee is $175.00, and the member is responsible for paying all greens fees and food, beverage, and room charges. Tee times are booked through the CBA Member Service Center up to 30 days in advance.

Legislative Advocacy: The CBA is your voice at the state capitol. The CBA pursues an ambitious legislative agenda to enhance the practice of law and improve the administration of justice. As a CBA member, you have a voice in shaping the legislative agenda to improve the practice of law for you and your clients. Publications: The Connecticut Lawyer magazine is published nine times per year and is an exclusive member benefit free to all members. The Connecticut Bar Journal is a scholarly periodical that features articles on a variety of legal topics. Published quarterly under the direction of a board of editors, the journal is free to all members and is available on a subscription basis to non-members.

Special members-only discounts allow convenient access to CLE seminars. Whether at the office, in your car, or at home, listen to CLE seminars and brush up on the latest in the legal profession. Keep complete sets of seminar materials on your desk for quick reference. Sections & Committees: Collegiality, sharing expertise, and working together to improve the practice of law are the hallmarks of membership in CBA sections and committees. The 32 sections and 49 committees of the CBA are the lifeblood of the organization. Substantive sections provide networking and professional development opportunities for members. Committees focus on legal, practice-related, and professional issues.
