About the Program: The Sports and Entertainment Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections are co-sponsoring a free panel discussion where experts will examine the current trends in the use of ADR in professional and amateur athletics.

Part A:  A look at ADR in Pro Sports One Year After the A-Rod Arbitration

  • Valuing a player involved in Major League Baseball's Salary Arbitration
  • How to bring a case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport
  • Bringing your International Basketball case before the Basketball Arbitration Tribunal
  • Procedures addressing player misconduct

Part B:  Finding Due Process within NCAA Suspension Rules

  • Assessing NCAA Bylaw 19.7, “Restitution Rule” in the suspensions due to player misconduct
