The Young Lawyers Section's members are invited to volunteer at Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity, both at a to-be-determined build location and the organization’s “ReStore,” a home improvement and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. All ReStore proceeds are used to build homes, community, and hope in the Hartford area and around the world.

Please join your friends and colleagues in volunteering for the CBA-YLS Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, May 14, 2016. You can help in one of two ways:

Build
• Join us constructing a new home at a Build Day scheduled for at a to-be-determined Hartford County location. Habitat for Humanity’s homes are built almost entirely by volunteers, both skilled and unskilled, and we can use your help on that date- whether you have construction experience or have never picked up a hammer in your life. All the equipment and safety gear you need for the day is provided, and no previous experience is necessary. Orientations take place at the start of each shift. We will be assigned a specific build site roughly one week before the build day. Please see the flyer below for more details and instructions on how to sign up.

ReStore
• If construction is not your cup of tea, you can still help by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity’s “ReStore” in Bloomfield. The Hartford ReStore is a home improvement and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. All ReStore proceeds are used to build homes, community, and hope in the Hartford area and around the world. Volunteers typically sort and process donations to get ready to go out on the retail floor, price items, and perform other tasks. If you would like to volunteer at the ReStore, please contact Eamonn Wisneski for more information.
