Congratulations on being recommended for admission to the Connecticut Bar! The new attorney swearing-in will take place on Monday, June 6 in Hartford. In addition to the information that you will receive, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions about the bar admission ceremonies.
After the swearing-in ceremony, the Connecticut Bar Associations invites all new attorneys and their guests to come to a reception in the North Lobby at the State Capitol. Parking in Hartford:
All day FREE Parking in parking garage behind the Legislative Office Building. Parking is available on a first come, first serve basis and is not guaranteed. Use address 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT (side street is highlighted in green on map). Please remember, cars parked in unauthorized areas will be ticketed, and vehicles that present a hazard to public safety will be towed.
Handicapped Parking and Access to Building - If an admittee or guest needs accommodations, please contact the Bar Examining Committee at (860)706-5135. Visit the Judicial Branch website for more information.
Two Hour Metered Parking on Streets – Not recommended unless you have someone, other than the admittee willing to feed the meter. Admittees will have to arrive one hour before ceremony which will last approximately 45 minutes and admittees are invited to stay for the reception following.
Public Parking for a Fee – Most lots are up to $9.00 for the day and are not within a convenient walking distance.
