Did you know that over 400,000 people in Connecticut are food insecure, and 1 in 7 children live in poverty?
The Young Lawyers Section (YLS
) is helping to make the difference between hungry and healthy in advance of the holiday season through its annual Horn of Plenty Food Drive from November 9 through November 23
. The YLS is once again partnering with Foodshare and its Turkey and Thirty campaign to put your dollars to work to feed those in need.
In an effort to keep everyone safe, this year’s campaign looks a little different. The YLS Horn of Plenty Food Drive will not be running an in-person collection of donated food items. Instead, members of the legal community will be able to donate to Foodshare to support the purchase of food items for a neighbor in need this Thanksgiving (and beyond).
Please share this campaign with your network so that you can double or triple your impact! The demand for food assistance has increased significantly during the pandemic, so your support now is critical. Foodshare expects that it will need to distribute more than 20,000 turkeys for Thanksgiving this year. Please support our efforts today by donating online.
A cash donation of just $10 to Foodshare provides a hungry neighbor with enough food for 25 meals, while a donation of $35 feeds a needy family for a week!
Please consider making a cash donation today by visiting the YLS Horn of Plenty Food Drive donation.
Thank you for helping to meet our goal by November 23rd!
