A Message from CBA Leadership

As we approach the 150th anniversary of the Connecticut Bar Association, we have a unique opportunity to reflect on our history, celebrate our profession, and build a stronger foundation for the future. This milestone is not just about looking back—it is about ensuring that the CBA remains a leader in the legal profession, an advocate for access to justice, and a resource for attorneys at every stage of their careers.  — President James T. (Tim) Shearin, President-Elect Emily A. Gianquinto, Vice President J. Paul Vance, Jr.

150th Anniversary Pledge

As part of our 150th Anniversary, every CBA member is invited to dedicate at least 150 minutes to pro bono or community service. Members can also join the 1875 Society, supporting access to justice and the future of the legal profession.

This collective effort will culminate in the CBA Day of Community Service on September 20, 2025, when members from across the state are invited to participate in coordinated volunteer projects led by their District Leaders. A list of lead organizers by district will be shared soon to help members connect and get involved locally.

Members who participate in the initiative—through service, donation, or both—will be recognized below and throughout the anniversary year.
