Zoom Instructions for Attendees

Attending a Zoom Meeting (Via Email)

  1. Click on the link that you received from meeting host.
  2. “Launch Application” will pop up, please click “Zoom Meetings” and then click “Open Link”
  3. It will then prompt you to download and open “Zoom_launcher.exe”, please click “Save File”
  4. Choose “Join with Computer Audio”
  5. To mute/unmute yourself in the meeting, click on the microphone icon on the bottom left
  6. As a non-host you can interact with the host and other participants by using the “chat” option in the bottom bar and also invite others during the meeting by clicking the “Invite” tab. Once the meeting is done, participant can wait till the host ends the meeting, or you can leave the meeting at any time, click the red “Leave Meeting” button in the bottom right corner.

Attending a Zoom Meeting (Via smartphone) – Recommended for better quality

  1. Click on link that you received from meeting host (probably in an email).
  2. If you are calling in as audio only with an iPhone, select the “iPhone one-tap” link, either one of those numbers will join you into the meeting as a conference call.
    1. Itwill ask for a Participant ID, press the “#” key to continue
  3. If you are calling in as audio only on a non-iPhone, please use the options under “Telephone”
    1. It will ask you to enter in the Meeting ID followed by the “#” key, which can be found at the bottom of the email.
    2. It will then ask for a Participant ID, press the “#” key to continue

Zoom Tips for Presenters

Screen sharing

  1. At the bottom of the screen, click the green “Share” button.
  2. There are options of what you would like to share with your audience. Your PowerPoint will be one of the options. Select and then click the blue share button.
  3. You are now screen sharing, to stop screen sharing there is a red button on the pop up bar. Click that to end screen sharing.

Chat

  1. At the bottom of the screen, click the chat bubble
  2. You can message everyone in the meeting or a specific person. Great for questions
