DE&I Track

Presented by the DE&I Committee

About the Program

Early discussions around diversity talked about the importance of equality and offering equal opportunity to all, regardless of race, religion, gender, etc. Treating people equally is only one step along the diversity continuum, and to actually achieve diverse and successful workplaces, we also need to focus on equity to overcome historic and structural disadvantages based on race, gender, etc. This seminar examines the role of equality versus equity in our efforts toward a more inclusive and just society for all. Participants will learn about reframing their focus on equity, rather than numbers, as a means to achieve meaningful participation for all legal professionals.

You Will Learn

To understand the difference between equality and equity
Why equity is important
To understand how equity can help improve employee retention and create an inclusive environment

Who Should Attend

Anyone interested in learning how a diversity focus can help improve recruiting and attract and retain qualified professionals to serve their clients.
