About the Program
Recreational cannabis became legal in Connecticut this year. According to a January 10, 2023 article in the Associated Press: "Legal Recreational Marijuana sales Start in Connecticut" as many as 40 dispensaries, along with dozens of other cannabis-related businesses, are expected to eventually open in Connecticut by the end of 2023. This panel will discuss the unique insolvency and restructuring issues facing the cannabis industry and related options, including assignments for the benefit of creditors, receiverships, and bankruptcy. The panel will also explore available safeguards when you counsel clients who are interested in investing in cannabis companies.
