12:50 PM to 1:50 PM

Presented by the Professionalism Committee

About the Program

The Rules of Professional Conduct include specific obligations regarding technology that remain steady in the ever-changing landscape of artificial intelligence. What does this mean for lawyers navigating the practice of law right now and what are the implications on the duties we owe to our clients? In this session, we will review the relevant Rules of Professional Conduct and what it means to be technologically competent, especially with regard to the use of artificial intelligence. We will also talk about different types of AI to get a better understanding of what the current landscape looks like. Finally, we will learn about how to ethically use AI (or not) to enhance your practice and better serve your clients.

About artificial intelligence and the law
About confidentiality and other obligations under the RPC
About how to ethically use AI in your practice
