About the Program

Trial practice in the Bankruptcy Court has many similarities with bench trials in other forums, but there are also unique issues. This panel will discuss various aspects of trial practice in the Bankruptcy Court, including the presentation of evidence, preparation of witness examinations, opening and closing statements, the use of deposition transcripts at trial, how to anticipate and head off hearsay objections, and a judge’s view of trial practice and preparation.

Participants will learn about various aspects of trial practice and get insights from experienced trial counsel and a local bankruptcy judge.

The Connecticut Bar Association/CT Bar Institute is an accredited provider of New York State CLE. This program qualifies for transitional and non-transitional CLE credits. 

Attorneys seeking NY CLE credit who have been admitted to the New York State Bar for two years or less must attend the live seminar for skills or ethics credit, or a fully interactive videoconference. Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE credits are only available as non-transitional credits.
