The program will help enlighten attendees about Limited Scope Representation and how it can benefit your practice.  The program will highlight various practical and ethical considerations to ensure that you are protecting yourself as well as your client.

You Will Learn

About the process involved in appearing on a limited scope on behalf of a client through to the certificate of completion  
About the ethical dos and don'ts, including the limitations of representation, when and how to expand that representation and when and how to get out of the case, if need be  
About the limited scope engagement agreement and how to draft it so that you and your client are protected

Who Should Attend

Anyone looking to incorporate Limited Scope Representation in their practice.  This could be particularly useful for family law attorneys.

Credit

CT: 1.5 CLE Credit (0.5 General; 1.0 Ethics)
NY: 1.5 CLE Credit (0.5 AOP; 1.0 Ethics)

The Connecticut Bar Association/CT Bar Institute is an accredited provider of New York State CLE. This program qualifies for newly admitted and experienced attorneys CLE credits. 

Attorneys seeking NY CLE credit who have been admitted to the New York State Bar for two years or less must attend the live seminar for skills or ethics credit, a fully interactive videoconference, or simultaneous transmission with synchronous interactivity. Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE credits are only available as non-transitional credits.
