The Connecticut Legal Community’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Pledge & Plan
In 2016, the Connecticut Bar Association began an initiative to bring together legal leaders in the state to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Connecticut legal community. The Connecticut Bar Association invited signatories to join the collective pledge, reflecting the commitment of Connecticut legal organizations to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments and for a collaborative plan to achieve this goal.
The Connecticut Legal Community’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Pledge was presented at the Inaugural Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Summit, which was held on October 26, 2016, at Quinnipiac University School of Law. The original 2016 pledge and plan was a multi-year commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion in legal organizations, with different focuses each year to help signatories attain their diversity and inclusion goals.
The updated 2025 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Pledge and Plan is now available. We encourage all organizations that previously endorsed the 2016 version to renew their commitment by signing the 2025 Pledge. We also extend a sincere invitation to new organizations across Connecticut’s legal community to join this important initiative.
