About the Program

This program will provide an overview of the various housing options and support for low-income elders and persons with disabilities.  The presenters will discuss rental, energy and property tax assistance, how to effectively locate and access housing options, and the rental assistance and housing choice voucher programs, including new rules enacted through the Housing Opportunity through Modernization Act (HOTMA) (fully effective in July 2025).

Who Should Attend

All practitioners who work with elders or persons with disabilities, including attorneys practicing elder law, estate planning, real property, and disability law.

Credit

CT: 1.5 CLE Credits (General)
NY: 1.5 CLE Credits (AOP)

The Connecticut Bar Association/CT Bar Institute is an accredited provider of New York State CLE. This program qualifies for newly admitted and experienced attorneys CLE credits.

Attorneys seeking NY CLE credit who have been admitted to the New York State Bar for two years or less must attend the live seminar for skills or ethics credit, a fully interactive videoconference, or simultaneous transmission with synchronous interactivity. Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE credits are only available as non-transitional credits.
