About the Program

The CBA Well-Being Summit, hosted by the CBA Lawyer Well-Being Committee, is a free-to-attend annual event designed to provide CBA members with access to health and wellness presentations and resources focused specifically on well-being issues commonly experienced by attorneys. This year’s summit will feature several presentations and activities focused on the topics of mindful eating, healthy sleep, and workstation behavior.

Mindful Eating

Participants will learn techniques to enhance awareness of sensory experiences during a meal and will be guided to pay attention to taste, texture, and aroma. This hands-on exercise is aimed to promote a deeper connection with food and cultivate a heightened sense of gratitude for the nourishment it provides. If time permits, the presenter will facilitate a discussion on the impact of mindful eating on overall well-being and its potential benefits, such as improved digestion, better weight management, and enhanced satisfaction with meals.

Sleep, Stress and Professional Life: Healthy Sleep Is the Foundation of Well-Being

This one-hour presentation will focus on the benefits of good sleep, barriers to getting good sleep, various sleep disorders, strategies for achieving healthy sleep, and resources to support a good night’s sleep. Participants will receive several self-assessment questionnaires and a list of resources, and there will be an opportunity to join a round table to take the self-assessment questionnaires and discuss the results. Time will be provided for a question-and-answer session.

Alter Your Workstation Behavior and Reduce Pain, Injury, and Fatigue

Participants will view a PowerPoint presentation highlighting how to easily improve workstation behavior. The group will take part in demonstrated stretches that can be incorporated into their workday. Questions on ergonomics and musculoskeletal issues are welcomed!
