Program Description:

Attendees will learn how to effectively issue-spot Labor and Employment/HR issues for their clients and for themselves as employers. Some of the issues discussed will include: the misclassification of employees as exempt from overtime; workplace harassment and the #MeToo Movement; the cost of incorrectly classifying an employee as an independent contractor; and the explosion of retaliation claims in the civil rights arena.

Time Agenda:

  • Robert G. Brody – 30 minutes on various human relations issues such as misclassifying workers,disability accommodations and employee handbooks.

  • Lindsay M. Rinehart – 30 minutes on various human relations issues such as sexual harassment and the #MeToo movement, unlawful inquiries, and stereotyping at time of hire.

He is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, New York, Michigan and Illinois, as well as admitted to nine United States District and Circuit Courts and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
