Program Description
Nancy L. Walkley will be distributing several selected Standards of Title and Validating Acts and discussing their implications with attendees.
Speaker
Nancy L. Walkley, Associate Senior Underwriter for Stewart Title in Connecticut, was recently named Connecticut State Counsel. Nancy is located in the Fairfield, CT office of Stewart Title Guaranty Company where she began as Branch Counsel when joining Stewart in February 2013. She was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1980. In private practice she concentrated on real estate, primarily commercial and condominium development representing lenders, developers and consumers for 14 years before entering the title insurance industry. Formerly counsel and manager of the Fairfield County office of Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company and Branch Counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Ms. Walkley joined the First American family in 2006 to open the United General Title office in Connecticut. After that brand was merged into First American, she remained counsel for First American in its Stamford, CT office until joining Stewart in 2013.
Ms. Walkley earned her Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law, cum laude, in 1980, and her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from University of Pennsylvania in 1977. She is admitted to the state and federal courts of Connecticut and to the New York Bar. She is a member of the Connecticut, Fairfield County and Bridgeport Bar Associations and was a former a co-chair of the Real Estate Committee of the Fairfield County Bar Association for over 10 years, as well as President of the Connecticut Title Association from June 2015- June 2017 and is currently a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Standards of Title Committee. Ms. Walkley has been a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars sponsored by the New England Land Title Association and the Fairfield County Bar Association.
