About the Program

This informative seminar will discuss important updates to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) rules and regulations involving workers’ compensation Medicare set-asides, what medical services and prescription medications make up the set-aside, and how it is priced; best practices in use of an annuity when funding the Medicare Set-aside; and best practices in using lump sum or professional administration.

  • The components of a properly drafted workers’ compensation Medicare set-aside including how the Medicare set-aside is priced

Following the seminar, the Workers' Compensation Section and Young Lawyers Section will host a reception from 5 – 7 p.m. to meet and greet the new commissioners of the Workers' Compensation Commission. The reception will also be used to present the Pomeranz-O'Brien award and will serve as the Workers' Compensation meeting. Attendance requires an additional fee of $70 which includes open bar (beer & wine) and heavy hors d'oeuvres.
