Rebimbas Headshot

Rosa C. Rebimbas is serving her sixth term as state representative for the 70th District of Naugatuck. She is a Republican Whip, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, and a member of the Joint Committee on Legislative Management and Environment Committee.

Rep. Rebimbas earned an undergraduate degree in political science and secondary education from Fairfield University and her JD from The University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. She was at a local firm before opening her own practice, The Law Offices of Rosa C. Rebimbas LLC, in 2007, which focuses on real estate, personal injury, immigration, criminal defense, and
family law.

She has served as a board member of the United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls and on the board of directors of Guardian Ad Litem Services. Additionally, she is the past president of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Waterbury Inc. Currently, Rep. Rebimbas is the interim president of the Portuguese Bar Association, a board member for the Naugatuck Economic Development Committee, and an active member of the Naugatuck Republican Town Committee. In 2010, Rep. Rebimbas gained national attention when she sponsored House Bill 5533, “An Act Concerning Sexting,” which reduced the punishment for minors from a child pornography felony to a class A misdemeanor.
