State of Connecticut Appellate Court

75 Elm Street, Hartford, Connecticut, United States

The Civics Education Committee is hosting a competition revolving around this year's theme, Free SpeechFree PressFree Society. Students have been invited to celebrate and participate in Law Day by creating an art poster, a poem, or a poetry slam performance based on one of five scenarios: religion, press, speech, assembly and petition. The students who submitted their work will present in front of an audience composed of their peers and judges in the CT Appellate Court on May 3, 2019. After, they will enjoy lunch and have an opportunity to take a tour of the Capitol. The winner will receive a monetary prize and their work will be published in the Connecticut Lawyer magazine.
