Top 10 Wage and Hour Mistakes

Speaker

Christopher L. Brigham
Updike Kelly & Spellacy PC, New Haven

Program Description

Wage payment mistakes can be costly for employers both in terms of the company’s balance sheet and employee morale.  This presentation and discussion will focus on the “Top Ten” mistakes that employers make or likely will make at some point.  Are you referring to your employees as “salaried” and “hourly?”  Are you “docking“ their pay?  Paying “Comp time” instead of overtime?  This will be an interactive discussion of some common mistakes, how to prevent them, and what to do if you have made them.  We will also discuss some recent employment law legislation which will impact employers of all sizes in the state of Connecticut.
